Les Carlsen
Fontana, CA
Les was a performer and played in rock and roll bands, since he was
16. He worked as a hotel-purchasing agent, thought about college
and the hotel industry but opted for his true love of music. So,
he announced to his family that he would make his career as a singer/musician
and did so for several years. One day, the Broadway musical “Hair” came
to Seattle, and Les auditioned with 1,000 other performers. He was
hired and spent the next two and one-half years touring with the
show. At the same time, he put out his first album and met his wife,
Joyce,([they’ve been together for over 30 years) who was also
in the production. Together, they worked nightclubs, released albums
in Europe and did some Italian TV. Then, they became Christians and
toured with a Christian heavy metal band (Bloodgood) for eight years,
while the band became internationally famous and they released eight
albums.
When their first
daughter was 3 or 4, the time came to take a break, and Les answered
an ad titled “Rock and Roll Atmosphere”.
Thinking he would be interviewing to manage a rock and roll band,
he showed up in boots and leather. Shortly, he found out that the
company was in the art business but offered a rock and roll atmosphere
around the office. After his day of observing the business, he went
home and told Joyce that he found a business where he wouldn’t
have to work for someone else and could make $100,000.00 a year and
asked her to give him two weeks. The first week the whole office
went out of state to sell, so Les stayed back [he was tired of traveling
after all those years] and sold 75 pieces on his own and realized
he had a knack with people and sales. So, he got highly motivated,
became a Manager in six weeks and went to a rally in Las Vegas, where
he met the owners of the company, got some recognition and said, “What
a great company!”.
In short time
he moved to Ontario, California, where he’s
been for nine years. As a Branch Manager, he honed his people skills
and earned the title of Regional Manager and the ability to make
lots of money. Les says, “As a performer, spending time with
superstars, I did a lot of great things, but this company has shown
me even greater things!” Les lives in his own beautiful home,
drives wonderful cars, vacations in Palm Springs and travels the
world with the company. Each day, he looks forward to meeting new
people, examining their hopes for the future and showing them how
they can make the sky the limit with Partners. |
